This is yet again one of my favorite locations, looking down Harlem. I actually followed the moonrise calendar, and April 20 was the day that the full moon was rising aligned with the street!
Unfortunately, that day was clouded, so I went back and shot on the 21st. That meant that a) the moonrise was no longer perfectly aligned with the street and b) the moon rose about 45 mins after sunset, so there was much less ambient light.
Normally, it's impossible to expose for both moon and ambient correctly, but just after moonrise the moon is a bit dimmer due to moonlight passing through more atmosphere. For the same reason, it also looks bigger. So I think the exposure is OK.
In order to get the nice star-shaped diffraction on city lights, I stopped down a bit, but that mean a longer exposure and a slightly blurry moon.
I am not sure if this will do well, but I like the fact that I am getting a collection of the same location under very different conditions:
