Great macro. I like how you got right in his face! |

He looks really cute - just as long as I don't have to touch him. How small is he?
Wish I could get a macro of a bug anywhere near this good - with ANY camera. |

Bugs are so interesting & it's so much more fun to examine the details in a photo than in real life. I can't help but admire the perfectly artistic DOF on this, excellent color. All it lacks is snappier contrast. |

My first impression was -- GREAT, I love the detail and DOF and the bug itself. Then I thought I'd like to see it better. I agree with Bassbone, a bit of brightening would help. |

better to smell than to see
these little guys are so cool - they do such a good job of hiding among the leaves
a bit of brightening might be in order here - it seems a tad underexposed and then we could really see those googly eyes |

Agree. Especially like how your DOF brings out that triangular plane (very like a skate [fish])culminating in its pointy nose, and how it has a meek doglike expression. |

I enjoyed just looking at this shot for a while, and sorting out the details of the bug's shape and colors. The area in focus and DOF are exactly right, as are the exposure and the even light with your S&H adjustments. |
