i actually find this quite unsettling - but in a very good way - the lean of the world, the feathery texture of the trees and how the light is engulfing them, the straight on and in your face composition driving our eyes into the scene |

So, okay, it just seems so rare that you get so strong a composition (trees leaning left at left work like genius) and combination of texture (foreground) and watercolour. |

I always say, if you take a picture of train tracks... get low to the ground--just make sure there isn't a train coming!
nice decision on the sepia. |

Most intriguing composition! Sitting here gaping for awhile. Maybe tomorrow I'll think of what to say. |

Great POV. I really like the fact that you found something that you felt the P&S was perfect for. Sometimes I feel that I'm stuck in a world full of SLR snobs that don't appreciate what a good P&S can do. |

Nice one! The sepia conversion is excellent. Everything lines up so nicely. Trees, tracks, boards... |

Nicely done, and the DOF is right for this shot too. Many P&S cameras hold the metering level if you point and push the shutter half way, and hold it there while you are composing. It makes it easy to get the light levels you want, as you can watch the screen to see what it will look like as you move the camera around. You did a good job with getting what you were after with this shot. |

Train tracks are always good--this is a fine one. The trees looks especially fine, a nice contrast tothe tracks. If you use center-weighted metering, be mindful of where you point it, a variety of results can be achieved. Think of it as spot-metering. |

Nice effect. I like the sharpness of the boards in the center. There isn't much detail in the distance, but I've decided I don't mind that. The lines lead me there, but my eye returns to the center where there is nice detail and depth to the image. Thanks for sharing that nice sepia Photoshop action. |

Really nice job on this one. I love the lines and color. Going to have to try your action out for myself. |
