Tried to turn something out of nothing.
Used levels and curves. Dropped the sat.
dodge and burn the clouds.
USM a couple times to increase the grain.
levels and curves again to darken the sky and enhance the grain.

Everytime I pass one of those irrigation systems I try to think of how to shoot one, you did a good job with this! I especially like your editting choices.

i like how you 'kicked up' the flatness and beauty of the Midwest skyline

that is home to me - and the way you enhanced the grain gives this a very old and period look to it

BUT...my favorite part is how you elongated the shot by the cropping to give the impression of the flatness of the land....

Yes. And you did a very nice job of it. Glad other people do this - looking at your original, I think I would have tried something similar. Glad you showed it.

I really like what you did with this. It makes it look like a typical stormy day on the farm.

It's quite amazing that you were able to get this very impressive photo out of the faded and ill-composed original. I love the crop, and the b&w conversion, and the contrast. The grain is interesting and I like that too.

Like others have said it has an Old Timey feel to it with the grain and tones. The clouds really pop and that adds a very important element to the photo.

You did a nice job of making the flat looking image into a nice B&W with the old time print look.

nice one. this shot has an old-time feel to it, perhaps because of the grain and the fact that its black and white.
the grain also makes it look like one of those paintings that is made up of thousands of dots. i am enjoying it.
