i met this guy while strolling around a kinda scaryish abandoned slather house. he scared the hell outa me when he suddenly stood a few meters in front of me. i mean he could've been a security agent or a mass murderer or something so after a few moments of silence i just raised my camera i said: "i'm just taking photos here"
he responded: "well, do what you want, i don't care"

then he told me he had worked there for many years as a butcher and that he was just visiting the place again to see, what had changed over the years. he was kind enough to let me take his photograph, before i left the place while still shaking a little...

What a story to go with the photo. I like the contrast created between him and the surroundings.

I'm betting mass murderer. "Butcher" kinda makes me worry.... Very cool shot, though - I like the way the elements are lined up in the picture - man, ladder, chair, door.

You gotta be more careful man! That would have scared the crap out of me as well. Nice pic to give you the willies every now and then, you should title it "The Butcher" for dramatic effect:)

Ahhhhh, the places of memories! The average observer may see junk while the individual who experienced the place holds great treasures in his or her heart! :)

Like how the emphasis is on the building with the man putting things in perspective -- it is almost like he is a tour guide.

What KIND of butcher, is the question:)

You could have asked him to sit in the chair.

I find the image, as it is, just creates alot of questions and interest in my mind.

Wow, that is quite some story. I frequently go into abandoned buildings, and I would have a heart attack if someone showed up while I was there.

LOL, funny story for a great photo! I can see the camera shake in the man though LOL. Or is it motion blur? Anyway, doesn't really matter as this is a great environmental portrait and story to boot....

That would have freaked me out too. I am glad you got a shot of him. I like how the focus seems to be on the surroundings and not necessarily on him.

Love your story - too funny! Great shot too - with the grain and such a stark background, he does look like he could be a serial killer...
