I can understand why you cropped this the way you did. For me, the child is too small, and gets lost in the great surroundings. If he was standing just where the path meets the lower edge of the picture, it might have made a big difference.
This looks like a fun place.

My first impression was Hansel and Gretyl without Hansel. To me, your image has a fairy tale quality, but perhaps a bit over sharpened.
