Challenge: Free Study 2008-04 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Location: Dam Square, Amsterdam
Date: Apr 23, 2008
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 1600
Shutter: 1/60s
Galleries: Candid, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Apr 30, 2008

Chance candid at a fair, ambient lighting.
Editing: no crop, USM, channel mixer monochrome, added grain, resize & save for web

I don't expect this to do well, but I like the candidness of the shot, and the way people are looking at the action. Hopefully the desaturation was a good choice. I like it.

I think this is quite a good candid. The vendor's look is great. I like the other expressions as well. Well done!

I think this one could have been really good, except for the placement of some heads and arms.

This would be a higher score for me if I could see the shooter. Of course it would be nice for complete strangers to do what you want them to...right?

tight cropping has made this noisy

maybe if you had cropped out teh girls head and just had the arm shoing it may have more of an impact

So interesting where all the people are looking - at you or at the shooter. You're hidden behind the people in front of you - and we don't see the shooter, just his hands and the rifle. Excellently composed.

I really like seeing the reactions of the different men in the picture to the woman shooting. I'm not sure if I like the decapitated torso on the left, but I'm certainly no expert
