USS Massachusetts, berthed at Fall River, MA, USA. This ship fired the first and last naval rounds of WWII. She served in both the Atlantic and Pacific. Mothballed after WWII and moved to Fall River in 1964 as a tourist site. Battleship Cove consists of the Battleship Massachusetts, the submarine Lionfish, destroyer Kennedy, and a Russian Frigate.

Taken during a Cub Scout sleepover on the ship. It was nice of the ducks to pose for me.

Somewhat disappointed with the 10% finish. I'd love to get more comments to help my photos in the future. Thanks

Impressive vessel, but overall, the composition is boring. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, "Is this really the best shot I've taken all month?", then add that to, "Would I hang this on my wall?"

Yeah the tilted horizon is a shot killer for sure. Also this was a free-study so the bar tends to get raised very, very high. I could see this shot winning some sort of challenge like 'odd fellows' or something that would really make the most of the duck and ship in the scene. You should note this location for use in the future. Also hitting it later in the day or early in the morning would provide some much nicer light to work with.

I think one problem is the slanted horizon, also the fact the top of the ship is cut off doesn't help. I think I would like to see the whole ship. You could try lots of different angles maybe, there is nothing hugely wrong with your shot but there is just nothing that really jumps out and in free study the competition is much harder

Be sure to rotate your horizon as it makes water and ships appear as if they are going down hill. Perfect detail on this battleship.

I like the idea, but maybe find a way to get just the rocks and not all the scrubby brush on top of it in the shot. Different angle perhaps? Battleships are so immense, having the scrubby bush interferring with much of the central ship takes away from the battleship too much.

very intresting shot, the ducks almost lend itself to this shot by saying, peace and war. nice colours the ship does appear to be sinking though as teh front bit is a lot lower than the back end, maybe a tiny skew is needed?

like the contrast between the ship and the ducks
