A pretty simple technique using layers in Photoshop and using the Glass filter and darkening the background while sharpening the little girl's face. I was trying to recreate the feeling from Alice In Wonderland and Alice's journey into a world of imagination!

Interesting effect. But, to be honest ... it kind of feaks me out a little! :)

Not everything that can be done in Photoshop should be done. This is a great example of that!

An interesting effect; but the face is so dominant, and the rest subdued and hard to figure out, that I am not sure what I am looking at. And to me, the effect doesn't stand on its own aesthetically; it might if I could after a few moments see the paradox, or trick, to what I am looking at. But it almost looks like a mask and photoshop filter, nothing based in reality, even though in this "group" I suspect there's some real basis for this.

This is way too much "digital art" post-processing for my liking. Sorry.

Well.....okay.......a little wierd........but interesting.

Interesting idea. I don't like the result, though. Sorry. 4

Cute picture, but the processing really takes away from it.

Interesting idea for a photo. I think you should try some versions of it outside. I could see the same shot out on a green grassy lawn or other semi-solid color back-drop. What a cute little face to focus on.

it took me a minute to see the effect you were trying to pull off here. i think it would have been more immediate if you'd included the fingers on her hand that are extended as far as where her face reaches as well.

its a really neat idea, but where this is a photography site these kinds of effect images don't normally go over so well....

This one is freakin' me out. Outstanding concept, quirkily executed. Looking at it several times before I vote. In the end, I think the brightness of the face is the major down to this. Still good and not taking vote down for photoshopping. This one catches the attention for sure.

I hope not many folks think this is more digital art than digital photography and vote it lower. You will know if you have an excessive number of 1s, 2s and 3s.Your method to highlight the baby's face is very creative. I'd have cropped off most everything right of the baby since there is little of interest there and you could have applied the rule of thirds.

nice idea but it just doesn't look right, the edges are a little harsh.

Not sure ripple glass affect was the best choice for this shot. Her pretty blue eyes would of carried the shot.

Whoa, hypnotic eyes...but the use of filter here takes away from the overall effect I think.
