| Great lighting and expression on the child. Something about the post-processing doesn't seem right (too sharpened perhaps?) but it's still a great picture. |

| I could see this in an NG magazine any day! Just a perfect portrait shot. Color saturation and contrasts are perfect. I wouldn't change a thing with the composition either. I love his expresion. Would this be Manuel??? 9 |

| Good solid portrait, interesting and touching face. Like the sense of his emerging from hiding, and the edge of concern in his look. Not convinced by the neg space right of frame - think I would have cropped it more, as I don't see what it adds, and the brightness draws my eye there a little and there isn't anything there that seems to help the story. |

| Really love the overall effect of this image - it really makes you think. You really captured the essence of a mood, a personality, a time and place, etc. The overall composition is wonderful and this boy's eyes are amazing. This is very National Geographic quality. |

| Fantastic portrait, something I am always looking for. Such sharp eyes, and the snotty nose, so much charachter. His eyes are piercing into my soul. The green part of the wall on the left might not go down well with some people but for me it brings in some vivid color to complement the lighter tones (10) |
