 Thanks to my neighbor for allowing my to shoot his wonderful collection of old cameras.

Post-Challenge: Thanks everyone for your comments on this image. I really didn't know how this would score, but am ecstatic about the 8th place finish.

This was a simple setup. This is exactly how the camera was displayed on the shelf. Since the room was quite dark and I didn't want to shoot a flash, I did a 15 sec exposure and the AWB was fine.

i love the old box, but i don't think the books are neccessary. also, the background behind camera and its box is distracting

The still-life aspect is what does it for me. Finding the box adds to the story.

Great idea, but for me the flat plane of your elements lets the books competing with the camera for my attention, perhaps if the camera was more in the foreground.

Nice subject choice, maybe showing the top of the books may have been a better composition. Very nice overall.

I have one of these. I keep it on display at my desk at work. I'd like to take some pictures with it, but I have a crack on mine in the wrong spot where it would probably leak light.
