 This was taken at sunrise in the Wahiba sands of Oman. It is a beautiful place that you should visit someday.

Copy. Clone stamp x3 to remove sensor dust spots. Hue/Saturation layer to increase saturation (first master, then blue, then red). Contrast layer to boost contrast. Merge visible layers. New guide. Drag guide. Rotate canvas. Drag guide. Crop. USM.

I'm very happy about this because now all four of my front page images are 6.0 or above. If I had any specific goals, that was one of them. It's a bummer the sky wasn't nicer that morning; but you make do with what you've got. It was a great trip out to the sands. I wish you all could go there.

:-) Title fits perfectly. Your image brings the word "desolate" to mind. Barren and lonely or Moses looking out across the desert. I like the composition and lighting. Good shot.

Very good attempt on Dune. I would like to see more of it. Great colours. The dune seems to be a bit soft, probably due to the wind. Very fresh idea.

i'm enjoying exploring the vastness and all the little details in this image.
the natural tones and colors are a nice appeasement for my eyes after looking at too many oversaturated images here on the site and in the challenge ;)

the color of the dune itself is great, but the background and especially the sky seem quite dull in comparison. Perhaps a polarizing filter?
