 Fading sunlight on Half Dome, shot low from Cook's Meadow, with the rising full moon in view just before it hides behind the valley wall to the right. That's Ansel's Tree right below Half Dome.

Had a hard time choosing an entry this month because I had several Yosemite shots I liked. Then I had a harder time deciding which edit version I liked.

Settled on this one because I think it will do well in the voting ... a classic scene and some interest in the foreground with pretty dramatic DOF. The moon on the right is a little stretched by the lens which is sure to be noticed by some.

I like one of the outtakes better than your entry. The thing I noticed about the FS entry is an apparent cyan halo artifact around Half Dome and the mountains around it. The outtakes don't seem to have this artifact.

Compositionally, all the shots are solid and provide an interesting and more unique view of one of the most famous rocks in the world.

I liked this shot because it was a different perspective from what is normally seen of Half Dome. I am guessing it may have fared a little better without the border.

Good idea but I think the mountains which are the subject, are crowded at the top, almost pushed out of the frame by the foreground foliage.
