This is a shot of the wheels on my computer chair. I cropped it slightly, converted it to b&w, and applied an auto-levels, all in Photoshop.

Thanks for your comments, I appreciate getting the feedback. I have a hard time getting feedback from anyone I know, as I do not know too many people interested in photography. This was a great discovery for me. In regards to the comment by TooCool, I tried it with more DOF, but didn't like the results, I liked the offcentered feel, with all the focus on the left wheel. I also thought, like dhare, that the subject would not hold interest, but I liked taking the photos, I used it as a kind of Depth of Focus study. I took many shots with each wheel in focus, and all in focus, but this was my favorite out of the bunch. In response to CVTJan and bpickard, I thought that if there was an out of focus wheel in the center, that it would work, which, to a certain extent, it did. This is not my best work, as I had just found this web site, and had little time to think about the challenge. I hope to do better in the future. And, I do not normally have a theme to follow (this is just a hobby), which is precisely why I am trying to complete these challenges, to better myself. Thank you, everyone, for your help!

You've managed to take a good photo of a very ordinary item.

Good idea, but the composition lacks of offcentering, concering the rule of thirds you shouldn't put your object in the center or the middle of your picture. Hope this helps, Yours, Jan

Iwonder if that was the right wheel to focus on? Original idea though

interesting... but the composition does not work... too much empty space in the near view...

Love the POV. Love the B/W. Wish there was more DOF.
