 New Zealand Big Boat - KZ 1

She sits atop her cradle in the middle of Auckland's Viaduct Basin.

"Today, its mast points towards the sky and serves as a valuable mark to the pedestrian. KZ-1 remains today as one of the biggest racing sloops ever built to contest the America's Cup, and is a tribute to the boldness and know-how of New Zealand designers and boat-builders. "

I just KNEW that had to be the Big Boat! I am a long-time member of SDYC, and I was part of the support team when Dennis beat the Big Boat with the Big Cat :-)

Great composition and POV. I like the selective desat and that's an awesome shade of blue. Not sure about the border. A nine anyway.

En garde? Those sticky bits really bring this one in. Just spent an inordinate time wondering if I should like the subdued colours. Decided I probably should. Cool shot.

Interesting angles and great cloud detail in the sky. Sky colour looks a bit strange though and I'm not sure I like the framing.

Lovely colors in the sky and building. Would not have known this was part of a boat without the challenge name. Title does not help here either. Tilt and Border not to my taste.
