| Without the tons of sub-4 scores, this would have been a high-scoring shot (and well deservedly so). Different is not always well received here, but don't let that stop you. It is refreshing, after 60 head shots of lovely ladies, to encounter something different. If this is an example of your work, we're all in trouble. Welcome to dpchallenge! Looking forward to seeing more of your work. |

I gave this a 10 -its great! the lighting is beautiful - focus is RIGHT ON THE $ - the shapes are beautiful and its an image I would hang in my kitchen or somewhere with pastel colors- - the colors are amazing, and I LOVE :P :)
great first image entry BTW!! :) :-D is this a pet? looks like one = well kept etc.. :)
great image look forward to seeing more of your entires! :)
ETA: OBVIOUSLY this is a female also so it fits the challenge :P

| Funny how some people just can't look outside a bit.... have an open mind.... be a little creative. Still a great shot, and one of the better ideas. |

| Take it from an old farm boy, that's not a chick. Maybe a pullet, but probably a hen, but definitely a good portrait. |

Pros:
One of the best photos of a chicken I am ever likely to see.
Challenge doesn't say anything about being human.
Cons:
Not what I expect when I think female portrait.
Hmmmm. Pros win. Beautiful capture and does meet challenge. 9 |

Beautiful --and I bet this is the same chicken that was in the series shot i saw a while back!? :) ... and pet portraits? :)
I love the colors! :) high score for creativity-great highlights in the eyes feather detail is lovely - etc :) :-D |

| Ok, I really like this picture and if it were in a pet portrait challenge I would give it a fairly high score, however, based on the wikipedia definition of a portrait I have to say it DNMC. |

| A portrait is the facial image of a person... unless specifically referring to the likeness thereof. Nice picture of your chicken. Maybe if they said the portrait of a chicken... or portrait of a house or a camera. |
