 A candid image of my eldest daughter. Yes you have seen her many times at DPC. She has braved the cold and dressed like an angel, She has hung from a roofing harness in my backyard, she has makeup, glitter, sequence glued to her face, she has had a black spray painted rope curled around her head to look like hair, she has been forced to press her face into a car windshield while lying on the hood of a car, she has been an ice queen, a nun,an angel, a devil, a ghost and recently a vampire. I know ... I need to give the kid a break. I will tell you it is always fun .

So this candid portrait is clearly just a true shot of my crazy model, my daughter.

Compositionally, I really like the tight crop of this and the "unoccupied" space to the viewer's left. This crop really forces the viewer to focus on the eyes, which are full of expression -- it is almost a "I didn't do it, promise" look.

Technically, it is a very well done black and white, and the focus/exposure, etc. are also well done.

Overall, a very well done shot, as the commenters have aleady told you.

What a great candid. Your post work is spot on and the composition works well. Kids are amazing and it's cool that your daughter shares in the craziness that is photography. I know my boys sure put up with a lot from their old man. Congrats on your top 10 with this honest and beautiful image.

So happy this made the top 10 as it was one of my two challenge favorites. Hearing this is a "candid" makes sense: you caught a beautiful, vulnerable expression.

Nice tight crop brings the model home. Lighting, for the most part, is wonderful. I don't like the shadow the comes out of the model's right eye. You have a very attractive model that makes a great portrait.
