Wonderful textures, wonderful contrast and softness, wonderful portrait. You were robbed... This should have scored much higher.

This is one of the most amazing changes I have ever seen. If you haven't done it yourself yet, flip back and forth really fast :) hehe SWEET edit

brilliant conversion .. its an excellent portrait .. i love the softness and the feeling i get from this ... i also love the way its such an involving portrait .. the way she's looking right at me .. it creates questions in my mind .. who is she? .. wot sort of life does she lead ?? .. etc etc .. she is very beautiful ..

Thank you both for your comments.

Richard - A photographer friend of mine had this to say about my image above "There is technically correct and artistically correct - this is an artistic image". : )))

A very engaging photo. For those saying the face is not sharp enough I have to ask why they feel that way. The key word being "feel".

I didn't vote in this challenge, so I saw this in the before and after side challenge. Quite a striking image, and I think you made and excellent decision to conver to B&W. Crazy how from the thumbnail that scarf absolutely disappears!

I'm really drawn to this portrait - even tho the eyes & face seem less focussed than the wrap

I think there are some issues with texture and contrast here- too much of the former and not enough of the latter.( especially above the head. A really beautiful, striking face- but I am lost in a see of woolly frazzle. Good luck

interesting textures but face not in focus

Beautiful lady. I like the scarf surrounding her face. The scarf wants to blend into background which I found curious; not really distracting, but a curiosity. Samandiriel's face is very nicely lit showing some considerable personality. Very lovely.

Beautiful composition & lighting. I like the way you have used lines directing to her face. I may have preferred a background with more OOF & contrast with the model.

I like this... the texture of the background as well as her hood and cape. Nice expression on her face, maybe a little to much highlight on the bridge of her nose. Good Job

I like that the fuzzyness almost blends in with the background, but I wish the face were sharper.

nice textures and use of contrast (texture of background and shawl vs smooth) to draw my eyes to her face. Lighten her face a bit and it would be perfect.

nice conversion, would like it more with out the nose as the focal point base on the light. I would love to see this with some dodging around the right eye. Well done. 7
