One of my favorite vistas in Santiago Canyon that was torched last fall during the Southern California fires. It was drizzling and very misty. It was my first attempt at this type of PP.
ACR conversion, crop, curves, yellow photo filter, masked sky in multiply mode, dodged foreground, cloned out a few bright spots in the foreground, duplicate image, masked foreground in lab color mode/soft light channel b, change back to RGB, resized, USM, add border, resized. Save for web.


Shot at 70mm. I'm still looking for my first free study over 6.

I like the subject and the detail you've captured. I think it would be stronger if the foreground was brightened up just a bit. I lose some of the interesting detail here, because it's so dark.

Nice scene, but it lacks a specific point of interest. Maybe that dead tree in the bottom corner could be brought into the image as a point of focus?

I am not sure what to look at here that draws me into the image...it's justy a hill...sorry :(
