I really like the after version mainly because of the great texture that is now evident in the leaf. Boy you really brought that out very nicely. |

Nicely done! The colors suit this little guy nicely, and it has a bit warmer feel to it now (not to mention a much better composition). Perhaps a bit more dodging to bring out the shadows of the little worm? I think he is a little lost next to the highlights on the leaf. |

Cropping to bring the viewer closer the main subject is always a good thing for emphasizes the main subject and brings out details we might not notice in the original. Brightness/contrast and the dodging & burning really help emphasize the textures and patterns. The color balance/shift really brought out more warmer tones. The contrast and color hues in the original are rather flat. In this image they are warm and the contrast between light and dark really helps the image pop visually. |

The editing is very well done - suits the shot very well and enhances the tones and textures. |

I like the choices made here. A gritty texture delight. |

Much improved, definitely. I like the crop, increased contrast, and the color shift towards the warmer colors, and the sharpening is good. I'm not convinced the vignette adds anything. My eye is drawn to the vignette, instead of the worm and leaf. Maybe a more gradual tonal shift on the right side of the image, or darken all of the concrete instead of just the right edge. |
