 I saw that there were only a few entries on the final day and I was reading and came across this poem.

WE WEAR THE MASK

We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes--
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile
And mouth with myriad subtleties.

Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us while
We wear the mask.

We smile, but oh great Christ, our cries
To Thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

All of the sudden this image popped in my head and here it is! I had no model available so I had to shoot myself... I tried to get the focus close and this is the best I got... I honestly have no idea how this will do but I'm really happy with the pose and general feel of it.

cool shot, but i feel like if i didn't know this was the mask challenge i wouldnt know what was in his hand

so he's not wearing the mask, challenge met.... I am distracted by the position of the hand and the DoF is off, the effect is good and the main subject is in focus plus lit well

I like this - its different and interesting to look at! Good facial expression/hair on the model too! I don't know what the title means but I think that's probably me being stupid rather than anything else! 8

We wear the mask.... or at least think about it, and cover up our chin. unless of course it is the famous Peruvian Chin Mask of the late 1200's . . but it probably isn't because I just made that bit up :- )
