 These are four of my Girl Scouts (I co-lead my daughter's troop). This was the end of a challenging hike, and it was nice to walk down this flat road.

They had gotten maybe 50 yards ahead of us, so I stopped and grabbed this shot, thinking of other nice images I've seen of people walking away from the camera.

For the final look, I was going for the dramatically shallow DOF Larus gets with his F/1.2 images.

Editing: enhanced the shallow DOF a bit in editing, cloned out some branches lying in the road, darkened the background, and cropped to make the road a more important part of the story.

My top pick for the challenge with a 10. I thought the composition was right on the money, and the image theme perfect for the challenge. Nicely done!

I love this shot. What a great moment! Well exposed, nice use of color and contrast. Composition works well to show them headed down the road and off into the future. My favorite of the challenge!
