I did a little bit of processing:

Used VP to get a soft light layer then applied it in multiply with butterfly only masked out, copied that layer.
Flattened
copied layer and selected wings/applied brightness/contrast at +2, +7
Flattened
USM butterfly and grass near him only at 100, 1.5, 2
resized
USM all at 50, 0.5, 0
SFW

Here's a cropped version:

The light seems to be ever so gently spot-lighting the little guy!

I'm not really sure if I like the cropped version more or not... I like both versions for different reasons. I like the "look closer" aspect of the first and the detail of the second. All in all, nice gray hairstreak pic!

A bit dark, but I like it. Nice capture. I really like the cropped version too.

I love images with subtle detail you don't notice in the thumbnail, and this is a perfect example - the dappled light is great. As for the crop, I'd go for something between this and your posted crop version. Somehow I'd like the butterfly to be a little closer to the edge of the frame, as though we've caught him just before he flutters off into his own little world.
