I get a strange thrill when I see this image. It's like when Van Gogh painted those potato peelers. This is what the night sky is *really* like. You are a realist photographer. Who knew that would be a rarity?
And the night sky is a potent symbol for the Universe, i.e. That Which Is Bigger Than Us. It gives me pause to think about how empty it is.
But last night I saw a five year old blind girl playing piano so beautifully that the notes appeared to be weeping. So just listen to what music lies in darkness.

Another very underwhelming shot next to the eagle nebula and others. |

Too black for me. More subject may work better. |

im not sure the border works for this, the image seems a bit dark overall but I am liking the single star/planet |

Very minimalist. I think I see a border which only distract from what little is there -- and the fact that it's only really visible (for me anyway) in one corner. Still, I like the concept and composition. |

Interesting astronomically but not much of a photo. |

One dot of light? I really hope you aren't anticipating a high score with this. |

How I wonder what you are.... Mostly because I can't see anything in this image. |

I almost gave this 10 for humour/originality/thinking outside the box etc. In the end settled on 7 - I think the winner ought to have more going for it technically/composition-wise than just a good idea. Fair? |

Congrats on following the challenge. That one lone star certainly tells a story. Perhaps more impact with a tighter angle or a telephoto, or telescope...something to make it bigger. |

Fantastic. Probably won't score well, but you knew that already. I get it, and love it. I'm giving it a 10 for the emotion and creativity. Now get the song out of my head! |

Had to look for a minute - great minimalism and composition. The blue frame is a bit redundant, in my opinion, but hey - love the image, nonetheless. |

I have many shots of the night sky with just one star visible. Love the simplicity and the hint of trees/hills/?? along the edge. |

Well, you got a good laugh from me! Good thing I wasn't eating. Pure genius. Focus, composition, colours - spot on;) You just have to hope that people don't have dirty screens (mine is a borderline case). A 10 for creativity (and to balance the poor sods who don't get it...). |

Is it the sky....or just a white spot on your black wall? When I look closer....I see the blue border too! |
