Photographed during Dark Tranquility concert at The Clubhouse Music Venue in Tempe, AZ.

Artist is guitarist Martin Henriksson of Dark Tranquility. Dark Tranquility is a melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. Shot from the edge of stage left, behind crowd barricade.

I hope voters agree with the "partnership" of it -- I got pretty burned on my last submission ("Even") for being borderline DNMC... I wonder how this will do. I had some better sight-lines in this shoot, but something about this side-view just kept drawing me back to it. I expect comments on the sight-line, it's too dark, too grainy, WB is off, slightly oof, etc. -- but I like it, and think all those features give this shot character. I'm trying to get over over-analyzing my entries and "just submitting it," so I'll just submit it and see how it goes...

Shot handheld, 17-55mm/2.8 lens at 55mm, iso 800, 1/30 and f/2.8

A pleasant picture. Pity the focus is on the guitar neck, and not on the face. Or, for a soft focus picture, the neck is to sharp. Go figure. Lighting, colour, pose - very nice. I would probably have shifted the crop a bit, to give him more breathing space.

great lighting, a little too much contrast but still a good shot

Love the idea, partners in art! The colouring is throwing the picture off a bit - maybe try reducing the red in photoshop or lightroom?

With having the instrument as part of the title, i dont think that you see enough of it.
