I think that this shot was a real winner and deserved a much higher placing. even more so after reading about your time constraint! Well done! |

I know nobody reads 12th place after a challenge, but i will tell my story anyways. I found out about this challenge the day it was due! And of course it is summer in the northern hemisphere and of course i am on the west side of the US! The sun does not set untill 8:30PM and the challenge was due at 9:00! Stars didnt come out untill 8:50!! ugh so i only got one shot at it, and someone walked by with their flashlight! anyways, look out for my retry in free study with the star shot. |

Nice sharp foreground and great star trails. The diagonal line is a distraction though. |

You spin me right round baby, right round.
I can't help wondering what the line is that is intersecting the star trails - its a little distracting to me but it strikes me as the kind of thing you'd either like or dislike. Good effort. |

Excellent foreground to complement the star trails. I see you captured a plane going past as well. Not sure whats going on with the red in the left, 'residue' from sunset? |

I love the way the acceleration of the plane is visible. I recommend cloning out the hot pixels next time. Otherwise, looks great! |

very cool to watch time this way...that dotted line going to the trees is odd
plane or something? |

Super long exposure and composition. I'm sure it's been said, but too bad about the line going through the image. I would imagine it would be impossible to clone out. Your blacks are really nice and crisp. |

I think 'Night Flight' would have been a possibly better title. But we're not here to vote on titles and yours is fine. It's too bad for size constraints. Having to shrink these star-trail photos I think has reduced the true beauty of them. It looks over-sharpened but I understand. I'll go with an 8 |

Nice star trails!
Is that a meteor or an airplane? Looks like it has a blinking light so I'm guessing an airplane. |

Very nice shot already as such, but the plane trail makes it special. Maybe you could have cloned out the hotspots, they do disturb (but I am envious that you have so few, compared to what I end up with...). |

What is the straight line going from the base of the tree to the top of the shot? Is it a satellite trail? It is sort of distracting. |

nice photo, the trees are good, but perhpas having polaris (the northstar) in the shot would have framed it better. You seem to have plenty of stuck pixles, a darkframe would have helped. |
