I like the closeup of her face. Thanks for the info about her. I don't think we have those kind of turtles up here. |

I've never seen a gopher tortoise, but I've read about them, and how they get buried by the developers. There is a sanctuary in Boynton Beach where they can be relocated from building sites. |

Looks like a link to the past, a Florida ancient. I wonder how old this turtle is, nice capture with good detail. |

Good shot! The detail on the head is great. Maybe a little darkening of the background would help it be even stronger. |

I love the look of ancient wisdom in her eye. She has a quiet dignity about her in this shot that's lovely to me. |

There is something so fascinating and ancient about these creatures - the world has moved on around them, and still they plod on at their own measured pace. They are quite marvellous. |
