I'm wondering how you get these beautiful dark clear backgrounds for your birds. Have you set up some sort of feeding station (I see a little corn on the branch) with a backdrop? The picture is great, and I agree with fantomfoto that your presentation is very clean and attractive. |

I am so in awe - I have never seen a nuthatch! A really good study with an incredible amount of detail. Were you in a hide? |

Nice lighting and great pose! This has some real nice detail and focus, well done. You gotta love when they cooperate with you b/c most the time they don't:) |

With photos like these, I say keep the birds coming! Terrific detail. Was this taken at the 400mm end of your zoom? |

I just love bird pictures. I've never seen one of these, but the colors and very nice and the pose is perfect. Also, you always have great presentation with your borders and signature. Great job as usual. |

Another perfect shot from you! Good thing you didn't let that nice pose go to waste ;-)))
I don't usually see these; I get the white-breasted ones all the time at my feeders, though. I especially like it when they cling to the bark and run partway down the tree upside down to get to where they're going. |

You had very good light for this shot, and the whole scene is as good as it can get. The light on the subject, with the BG all dark is just perfect.
They are not seen in the area where I live, at least, I don't remember ever seeing them here. They look a lot like a smaller version of a blue jay without the crown feathers. |
