This is my first submission. I had something a little more creative in mind for this challenge, but didn't have time to pull it off. There happened to be a fireworks show across the street, and I thought I'd try to take something there. This was the first time I ever shot fireworks. Out of about 25 exposures, this was the only decent one.

Hey, just came back to look over some of the entries for this challenge and noticed this is your first entry. This is a good first attempt and you should be very proud! My first was a stinker ha ha. I notice in your comments you say you'd like to have tried something more creative and this was my main criticism in the comments - just remember though, creativity can't be forced and in the absence of a trully creative idea I'd go with a technically good one instead, which is what this is. Good luck for future submissions!

This is a nice clear fireworks shot, and has some quite clear links to the challenge 'Chemistry'. The colours are great and very complimentary, the image is sharp and well composed. The only downside is that there's a lack of creative thought with your entry - its a little vanilla to me and lacks a 'Wow!' kinda reaction. I gave this a 6.

I'm sure this was just a split second capture, but this photo could be improved by making it vertical. Possibly cropping it would work. Otherwise, it's beautiful!
