Think you chose well. I like the crop of the posted version. The color shot has very nice colors. Perhaps with a bolder edit the b/w can pop more.

I like both versions, your entry and this one. The color in the entry is nice and quiet, not overly stated, so it works well. And this crop serves to highlight the surrounding wall quite nicely. Both very good shots!
