Having worked in science most of my life, I had to try something for this. I didn't get the picture I wanted, but I think its cool with quite a few principles of Chemistry and Physics on display.
I borrowed some stuff from the lab for this challenge, basically, a clear glass thin walled vessel that had a cavity of 1.5mm between the front and back glass plates. This allowed me to form some liquids with different densities that would lay upon each other. Much like mixing oil with water.
I made a thin layered 10% SDS (a colourless, viscous, soapy substance) and covered this with an blue layer of bromophenol solution.
When you add acid to this, the upper blue layer turns yellow / orange, and the motion of falling acid solution forces through the layers to give a blebbing effect, which could show both the principles of gravity and brownian motion.
Luckily, a bubble shot up through the mix at the same time as taking the picture, which I think adds something interesting to the picture (and title).
The original was taken as a RAW file, with some brightness, shadows, levels and saturation adjustments to modify the look and feel of the picture. I rotated the picture slightly, cropped the picture, and added a small border.

I like the colors and sense of motion, especially the bubble. 7 |

Not sure what I'm looking at, but I like the yellow and that "drop". |

This is certainly a very interesting effect which meets the challenge well - provided you know what brownian motion is of course (or like me, you can use google!). Nice choice of colours and the fall off in the blue/white section I find particularly appealing. The yellows are looking a bit dirty in places though but I guess I can't have everything!
I think the only area this picture falls down in is that, although the subject matter is interesting, this effect is quite abstract and that for some is an aquired taste. 7 from me. |

Intriguing. I don't really get the title..."escaping" from what the picture seems to be about? I hope you explain a little in your notes. I really like the little bubble, it adds a little twist. Great color and smoothness. |

love the attempt to capture the motion of molecules through liquid - very good work 8 |

had to goggle 'brownian motion' so I could properly vote on this one, thanks for the enlightenment |

cool abstract...not so sure how it fits the challenge though, I mean other than the title. |
