Elegant, if a bit severe. Good separation on the highlight side, but the entirely missing ear in an otherwise frontal portrait is a bit disconcerting. Try turning the head until there is just a hint of ear on the far side. |

Poor choice of subject, IMO. The quality of this picture is almost entirely dependent on the graduation of mid tones in the skin, making any hgigh contrast black and/or white elements incidental and/or irrelevant. Had you made a high contrast picture of it then she probably would have looked less pretty... |

this is a lovely image, but i'm afraid it's not really a high contrast image. high contrast has a limited tonal range of high and low tones, with very few intermediate tones. the ultimate high contrast is pure black and white, no greys. the more greys or intermediate tones, the less high contrast it is. |
