gradient map, adjust contrast, some dodge and burn, a lot of noise reduction

I went out get some photos for the night sky challenge, but by the time I drove a little ways from the city, it had clouded over.

So, I turned my camera towards some lighting flashes that were appearing irregularly. In this photo, the lighting backlit the landscape, giving it a really different look.

I like the overall minimalist effect and silhouettes created by the trees.

Very cool - would love to see this in huge. I think it's one of those photos that is not done justice by being on the web. Love those stark black palms and the dramatic sky.

Even though there's a somewhat ominous feeling to the sky the image still remain upbeat. Palm trees and the sun are an inevitable combination.

Wide view of evening tropical palms along a skyline - subtle lightning-lighting, adds complexity & enhances trees as points of reference in this study of a very interesting vanishing point.
