A visitor inside my shop today.

I kept hearing a louder than normal chirp, but took me forever to figure out where it was coming from, as it would get quiet when I got towards the corner of the shop. This baby was in the far corner of my shop and was down inside a plastic drum (clean one) and must have given up trying to get out. I was able to reach down and get it and as I was taking it so it could get outside, it flew off and ended up on a section of the wall about 14 feet up. One ladder and coaxed it into my hand (hopped into it on it's own). Was so skeered & tired.
After a couple pics, outside we went and I opened my hand to let it fly off, and it just sat there, chirping more & more, probably calling out to Mom or Dad. Finally the chirps were met with other ones, and one of the parents swooped down to investigate, upon which baby bird went away, but flew into the shop next door. Another rescue from on top of one of their lifts (12' up). Back outside again, repeated the process, this time I gave it a toss up towards the roof, where there other birds were, and away it flew with them.

Friday the 13th is now a lucky day.
At least for one young bird with some really big eyebrows.

Yay - a happy ending.

Absolutely adorable in that ugly baby bird sort of way. Really love the story that goes with it and love his eyebrows!

Nice save and great story. Hope the bird lived even after it left your sight. Do you know what kind of bird it is? It's ugly/cute in a really cute way, heehee. And your hands sure are clean for a mechanic!
