I've had a string of decent scores (for me) and no shoehorns recently, so I figured it was about time -- keeps me humble. ha.

In sports, one's success is another's failure. In this shot, my son (on the left) was about to catch the ball when his older cousin jumped in front of him, and successfully kept Travis from catching the ball.

Fully not expecting above a 4.5. . ..

It is a bit difficult to make out what exactly is happening in the frame. Maybe B&W was not the best choice – but that’s only my opinion.

Wonderful timing, but the high contrast makes the image a little hard to follow.

Ouch! I can hear the slap!

I'm having a bit of trouble telling where the primary focus is. The thing most in focus to my eyes is the vertical striped shirt in the front.

BW is a good choice, but the BG isn't blurred enough, it distracts too much.

I think this looks pretty good in B&W.

Not sure I would understand photo without caption.. but cute idea. I like the border with this one

I like the action and the scene. Only thing you could do better is to freeze it more, and open your aperture more. The high contrast with the background like that makes the photograph very busy. Maybe a neutral density filter?

Reminds me of my childhood...
