This is a photo I took June 15th, 2008 at the Junior Nationals rowing competition. The rowers displayed are on the Everett Rowing Association team, and won the final race just before this photo...becoming the best lightweight men's 8+ in the Nation (2008, USA). I was here because I was an alternate for them, as I'm also on the team. Hopefully everyone else can respect how difficult it can be to catch moments like this in sports, as you never know what people will do next...and it's even harder to do when the objects are far away from you.

I hope everyone likes it!

P.S. Here's what the actual race looked like...

I understand how that could be seen. The best way for me to explain that this is the finish, and how it is shown in most if not all major crew races/regattas is the large buoys at the end, however they were to far off for me to get in the photo (hints why I added the finishing photo in my description). This photo I took while they were docking (bringing it in) as I only have so much zoom, but my thought was that the boat off in the distance would show they were going out, and as a result these guys were done, and succeeded. I failed to truly capture success in this photo, but I do feel I captured their joy...which I'm pleased with.

Thank you, everyone, for your comments and votes.

Unfortunately, it's the title, not the photo, that communicates "success."

Not convinced of any winnings.

My first impression is "We're #1", not "We're winners".
