 I attended the "2008 American Graffiti Festival" this year and saw quite an array of vehicles. This being one of them.

This is a Ford Sportsman's hood ornament.

The Sportsman was powered by the standard Ford 100 hp, 3.9 litre (239 cu in.) side-valve V8.

The "V8" part of the ornament is hilarious. Is that the original? If so, that was pretty risque for '47. Technically, it is a fairly well done shot, but seems a bit flat and static. Maybe boosting contrast or playing with the composition would add to the interest, a bit.

they did interesting things in 1947...who knows what they will do in 2047!!! it's a bizzare piece of art...thanks for sharing

this would be better if more of the hood of the car was showing for red/green contrast
