 I participated in a Relay for Life event in order to raise $$ for the American Cancer Society. One way to raise money was to sell these luminaries: white paper bags filled with sand and lit up by a small candle inside. People buy these in memory of those who have died from cancer, and also to honor those who have survived it and are currently beating the disease. (These were placed in a line btw lol.)

This event took place in a big park with a walking path that looped around. Participants joined a team and team members took turns walking around this park for close to 20 hours. These luminaries lit the path for those who walked overnight and it was a beautiful sight to see. It's very hard to describe what I felt as I walked past all these messages lit in the dark. It really makes you think about and be grateful for all the good things in your life.

Michelle, you are going to have to help me with this one, what are they? Lanterns? Paper Bags with mementos in them?

I really liked the contrast between the cold blackness of the negative space and warn translucent glow along the line. Nive DOF as well which gives a single point of focus but which means that the viewer can see what is one the other items

Touching. Higher score for emotional value then for photographic quality, but a very high score just the same. Excellent content.

Oh I've seen these before - I hope others know what they are - WONDERFUL IMAGE CHOICE - poignant - wonderful, and very, VERY sad.
