 James Morrison, probably Australia's most well known jazz player, at the Basement in Sydney. Tricky light conditions. You might wonder why it's in a strength challenge. But only if you haven't heard him play. One of my favourites.

This would have been a much better photo for me if the focus had been a bit better.

Either this is really noisy from a low light situation, or it was out of focus and you tried to correct it by oversharpening. I think the use of b/w is good and I like how you showed the strength needed to blow that horn.

Good idea. The grainy effect doesn't do it for me though. More detail would have been good. More contrast too, I find it a bit flat

Nice idea but sadly not a great quality of image, either over compressed or shot in a way to produce too much noise.

the subject's face should have stronger focus, but I'm sure this was a difficult to grab shot!

Grainy and not very sharp. You´ve probably been in pretty difficult lightning condition and when looking better the things I mentioned in the begining dont hurt the image a lot, rather gives it a certain atmosphere. It´s a fine image though some could say it´s not technically good. Maybe litle more contrast.
