 I have just started shooting these guys and didnt realise how hard it was to capture a decent image of one of them. I eventually resorted to putting a step ladder a few feet from the feeder (I dont have a tripod), making a rice bag to set the camera on to hold it steady, prefocus the camera and use a cable release to press the shutter and hope for the best. I also have a ruby throat that comes to feed and if I can get a better picture of it before the challenge submisssions close I will swap pics!

Good job! Focus in the right place, motion stopped enough to see the bird, but not so much that it looks stuffed. Did you do this with a single light?

love the green on the head, but the feeder is a little bit overbearing of the photo, maybe if you desat that a little, then pop up the bird more, it would work better, but kudos for you at actually capturing one of these little critters!
