I can't believe my forum post started this whole thing...

I usually don't enter speed challenges because I don't feel like I have time but I usualy wait until the last night to shoot my entry anyways so I figured why not!

Of course in my rush I left my ISO at 1600..... idiot.... lol

Critique Club Review:

Color, Saturation, and Hue: Colors work well for this image. Saturation levels are effective, nothing is over saturated.

Brightness and contrast: Contrast may be a little high, as the brightness is high enough that areas are burned out. The area around the element is brighter than I'd like. Yes it is burning, but I'd like to see a little more detail than the vertical blob. A tough request I agree, but this is an advanced editing challenge, and to get the top scores, the tough things need to be done. The smoke area at the top of the recepticle is also burned out and featureless. I see you accidently left the speed at 1600. A lower speed should have given you more tonal range. (But then you knew that.)

Focus and depth of field are good. The background is nicely softened to prevent distraction.

The pull chain is a distraction for me. If there were a remote switch or breaker than could have been operated by an assistant, that could have helped.

The reflection dead center on the subject, which is also dead center in the frame, hurt a bit also.

I do like the smoke and the way it wraps around the socket.

I also like the color tones. I'm a sucker for that amber, tobacco-ish feel.

Overall an interseting image with quite a bit of potential.

Cool! How many bulbs did you have to break to get this moment in time?

I'm totally fascinated by the flowing stream of something there. A very interesting picture.
