 Macro of a green glass bulb. I really like the semi-abstract effect that the glass gives to the interior of the bulb. I found it interesting how scratched up a brand new bulb can be when viewed so closely.

I also found it interesting that some patterns I saw in the filament lighting didn't carry over to the photo. Human perception and what the camera captures are often very different, especially when the subject is pulsing at a high frequency. Looking at my shoot settings, I should have tried some alternate settings that allowed for a faster shutter speed, however my DOF was pretty narrow as it was, due to trying out a new closeup conversion lens.

Pre-challenge notes:
Expecting this to do O.K., but I don't think it is anything that will stand out from the crowd.

Post-challenge notes:
Did about as expected and hoped, on the positive side of a five, but in the pack.

Abstract and interesting. Great job capturing this -- just the right exposure and focus to bring out all the interesting imperfections. An eight for you.

Somehow this ends up looking like abstract art of which I'm a HUGE fan...so I love your image and how you processed it!!! Very original. Nice cropping, too.

Well, the green color is very interesting and the composition is excellent. But the subject isn't very clear, and it's difficult to make out what exactly everything is. Just my opinion. Perhaps you meant this to be an abstract photo.
