Just noticed your shutter and aperture settings, if you had used AV setting and f/16 or f/11 your shutter speed would still be around 1/100 or 1/200 and you would have got more dof (ie more focus through the shot)
For every f-stop you change (bearing in mind your lens will change in 1/3 of a stop) you get twice (or half) as much light.
So in your case f/5 @ 1/1000
if you stop down 1 full f-stop to f/7.1 then you get half as much light and therefore you need a shutter speed of 1/500 for the correct exposure. |

I think this is a cool shot... but I feel as though it would have fit better in the Rural landscape challenge! I like the two windmills though! :)

Is this in the correct challenge? I think it would be better suited to the Rural challenge....however, lovely colours and IMO the subject is too centered. I would play around with the composition. You have some interesting elements in the shot....perhaps a little more emphasis on the contast between the old and the new. |

Would have been a best fit for Rural Landscapes. I don't know, if you entered this in Urban by mistake. If so, hard luck. |

I think you meant to put this in rural landscape? Am I the only one who asked you this? |

Wrong challenge, I guess! Anyway, pretty subject, I like the waving wheat, and nice juxtaposition of the old and new subjects.
Several problems: seems to lack sharpness - might be a resizing issue. Horizon line is centered, conventional wisdom says it is more visually interesting if the horizon is on one of the "thirds." Also, exposure is a bit blown out in the clouds. |
