is this a pic of a picture or a picture of a stamp? Just another flag blowing in the wind

It was probably intentional and I can see the effect you're going for, but my first impression is that it's just a little too overexposed. Nice composition

Maybe a bit over exposed.
04/19/2004 05:54:39 AM
Poorly taken, and I don't like flag waving pics. I feel it is out of place for an international site like this.

good photo would have been better with clouds in the background

undoubtedly a symbol of power - just don't forget that there are like a billion people out there who have only experienced the negative side of it

Hitler was strong once. Do you think a swastika belongs in this category?

border distracts from your majestic subject

can't you think of anything better to express power ? :)
04/16/2004 06:21:15 AM
Washed out.
04/15/2004 10:28:19 PM
Nice idea. Overexposed on the middle part of the flag and the pole. I think you spent more time on your border than on the photo itself.
04/15/2004 02:12:24 PM
This may just be me but I don't like the blown out whites.
04/15/2004 12:54:40 PM
Nice framing, but whites are really way to hot.

Its a good picture of a flag, dont know about the overexposure, its a very good effect when it works, and I think you almost got it, its not good effect when its too bright and hurt your eyes a little, mabey the colors ought to be a little softer too, nice job thiough and good luck :)

Overexposed... its quite blinding IMO. Good focus though
04/15/2004 07:08:58 AM
BASTA!
04/15/2004 04:54:37 AM
Seems blown out. Flag also seems to be torn at the second strip from the top (right side)
04/14/2004 10:41:07 PM
Overexposed. I like the way the flag is 'blowing in the wind' though.
04/14/2004 08:13:33 PM
Powerful wind on theflag, but weak photo, background overexposed and red stripes are washed in some parts,4.
04/14/2004 06:39:34 PM
High key effect works well - the gold top of the pole a real treet.

way too light, the pole is gone and the red and blue are pale
04/14/2004 12:33:09 PM
I really like the washed-out look. It gives the photo an edge.

Overexposed, not very original. Good frame
04/14/2004 11:58:19 AM
very very overexposed, too harsh to look at. border is a detraction also
04/14/2004 07:34:41 AM
This image doesn't work for me... It is vastly overexposed, and builds on very subjective connotations of power. Also, I would point out that there is a difference between "power" and "strength". Power is a more generic term, while strength is a word describing physical attributes such as raw strength and longevity. (you are by no means the only one. Check out this thread: kamps.org/g/?vkmv) I think you picture describes "power", but not "strength", and hence falls outside of the challenge. Sorry. (2)

Europeans will not give you a good score, we don't trust in military power as much as USA do... but politics apart, the burst efect of light make this a very nice final shoot to me, having same white on sky and stripes make it simple and elegant. Nice work!
