Indeed it is. Cool, that is. And yes, it's got plenty of layers and textures all by itself. In fact, it might make a great layer or texture to something else, too! |

You're right...the natural texture here should just stand on its own. It might be fun to play around with overlays that don't have much texture, but add some subtle tones. Then maybe experiment with some blending modes to see what you get. |

This is the perfect example of texture and overlays in the environment. I tried to say nature but it is human made after all. WONDERFUL! |

Sometimes you just can't improve on what's there!
ETA The black and white treatment adds the starkness that completes this composition.
