One of the first experimental shots with a Micro Nikkor 105mm f2.8.
Monopod and light sprinkle of rain drops. It is on a banana leaf.

There's a new Micro-Nikkor with VR (image stabilization). But I see you shoot Canon...

Another great shot! i like how the dof is small and only makes you focus on the bug. :)

its amazing the shallow depth of field ..
i've noticed it when i take macro shots .. especially at f2.8 .. you can see the line of focus on the leaf .. its so shallow .. 2mm tops which probably equates to less than 1/8" .. great how you lined up the focus 'line' to go with the robberfly .. i love robberflies to photograph, but there arent many insects around right now being winter .. its a bummer .. !!.:)

Very good Waddy! I may have to add a monopod to my wish list. Unfortunately, it is a mile long these days :) But it does seem to help with camera shake doesn't it. And I don't know why but it doesn't seem that they make macro lenses with image stabilizers. Wonder why, or maybe they do, I just don't know about them.

Anyway, very nice job! It's amazing that that little fellow has so many colors and geometric designs on him when if we saw him with our eye, all we'd do is go, "Ick!" :)
