This image has a lot of potential, but you need to use all your pixels so we can appreciate it. I feel sure your score will suffer because of that. |

Montana is such a wide open space. I've been to the mountains and the plains of Big Sky country. This is an intriguing shot because it goes against the preconceived ideas that the title infers. I would expect to see a sweeping shot with plains moving into infinity, or perhaps a skyline that boggles the mind. This does neither. It sort of leaves me confused, but not necessarily in a bad way. I stopped, looked and pondered this submission. While I will feel anxious that it didn't meet my idea of what a shot of Montana should be, it did make me rethink my paradigm. Something that all art should do on some level.
I think that I probably would have given this a 5 or a 6 under different circumstances, I'm bumping this up to an 8 simply because you befuddled me and made me take notice. Thank you. |

I think I'd feel the desolation you intended better if the picture were larger. The rules allow for 640px on a side, but yours is only 355. |

Nice picture but much too small. Try to take advantage of the maximum size for a picture, which is basic editing is 640 pixels |

A good example of a bleak landscape, very monochromatic, which I like - seems an accurate depiction. However, it is unfortunate that it is so small and that the crop over-extended on the bottom & right, giving you that white area; these two elements really detract from the overall. |

How desolate. Like the almost monochrome look of the grays. Nicely placed horizon line. Needs to be bigger though. |

I'm sure that you'll get this a few times, but you could make this photo larger. Evan |
