Photo was taken in a lava cave in Flagstaff, Arizona. The cave was formed by an underground volcanic explosion, thousands of years ago. The light was actually a bottle of water with a flash light on the bottom, then we put a flash light behind it so cast a beam of light, since it was about 33 degrees in the cave, breathing on the light cause a stream effect.

Hope you all enjoy.

This is a neat effect.

Compositionally, you have done well to have three main elements (two people on either side of the light), but because they are basically linear, it makes the composition feel a bit static. Perhaps if the light was higher in the frame, or further forward, it would help to create a stronger composition by giving the eye a broader path to follow.

Technically, I really like what you did with the light. It is a touch blown out, and a bit nebulous looking, but the "ray" or beam is very interesting. It kinda looks like a science fiction or fantasy movie where they find a relic, it glows, and they are whisked away to another world.

I think it is a very interesting shot, and could really tell a story. However, when voting, the voters seem to want the obvious and the clear. Your shot may have suffered from that.

Best to you in future challenges.

This photo is crying out for something in focus.

A tripod might have saved it, but I am not sure
