This picture will get a 10 from me and become an instant favorite for sentimental reasons. A little over a year ago I lost a friend, who was a U.S. Marine. While attending his funeral I was sitting next to his young daughter and a butterfly (yellow swallowtail) landed on the shoulder of one of the Marines holding the casket. That butterfly didn't move at all during the entire process of folding his flag. Only after the flag was completely folded and presented to his wife did it finally fly off. The best part of this experience was the fact that this little butterfly was seen by his daughter and gave her comfort that her dad was looking over her. Thanks for reminding me of him and those times I shared with him. We do miss him. No matter what your score is at the end of this silly challenge, you are the big winner in my book. Thanks |

Nice summer catch. However the harsh light and the clutter in the background distract me. My eye keeps jumping from the butterfly to the flower in the upper corner. 5 |

He's hiding his face ;-) Nice colors, not oversaturated. |

Love the butterfly and flower, but RHS of the image is a little distracting |

I think the butterfly almost gets lost among the other flowers and stems. Maybe a closer crop would have put more of an emphasis on the butterfly. |

problem here is I'm not sure which is the main subject , if the butterfly was the main subject then the image fails IMO because the butterfly can't be completely seen. |
