Missed commenting on this: I still like it too! What pleases me particularly is the detail in the man's jacket and hair - something to get your teeth into before you go dreaming into the bokeh of the fountain exuberance. |

Beautiful composition and DOF. I love the fountain bokeh and the sharp focus on the old man. He looks like he is going to make a wish, which is so poignant for a man of his age. Congratulation on your new top row entry. |

Wow what a classic looking photo! From the thumbnail i thought maybe this was going to be of a statue. What a very interesting moment. I love the colortone for this. Also the blurred and yet active fountain is a perfect background for the man. Excellent! |

Your 24-105 does much nicer stuff than mine does. :-) But yeah, sweet lens. Now get the 10-22 - it's a blast! |

Really interesting shot, but perhaps a little busy for me as there seem to be a lot of things demanding the viewers attention - the man (obviously), the jets of water entering in from the left, the main fountain providing a backdrop . . and the water column of the main fountain, being a brighter point than the mans face tends to lead the eye away from his features and almost make him a 'bit' player in a bigger picture.
Lot's of good things all bundled in here - but for me at least, this would be a stronger shot if there was a single clear focal point. |

Very interesting image and character. Lovely bokeh in the back too. Clearly B&W was a great choice for this image too. 8 from me. |

I ran out of ribbons, but really this is as good as anything. A perfect merger of man and environment, the Decisive Moment. It's got it all. Well done. |

Cool candid. (is it?)
I wish the man was a bit sharper, but I still like it. 7 |

Love the comp, would love it more if the there was more contrast between the man and the background. |

Great street candid. And the fountain adds interest without distracting from that shot. |

Very very nice candid. I love the black and white conversion and the DOF is absolutely spot on, we can recognise what is in the background but it does not impinge on the power of the main subject. Great job |

I'm a sucker for B&W, sharp, clean, great DOF and contrast between subject and background. This works really, really well. 10 and a ribbon if I were allowed to pass 'em out. |
